41-The Technology god And Its Prophets

The technology god that has emerged, exists within a set of doctrines and beliefs.

Although many scientists are atheists their beliefs sound more far-fetched than the biblical teachings that they refute.  While some of their science is based on fact, a good deal is based on theories. Along with science comes science fiction and some scientists are entrenched in both.  It is notable that many can tell you scenes out of the latest Sci-Fi movies, and out of Star Trek, but they have no knowledge of the Bible.
The technology god prophets called futurists advocate technology as the end all and have gone so far as to talk about technology ending humanity and creating a new immortal race, or artificial intelligence taking over humanity.
No one captured the idea of technology as god more precisely than quantum computing D-Wave founder Eric Ladizinsky, when he spoke of the pulse like noise of the D-Wave machine sounding like a heartbeat and called it “an alter to an alien god.”
The chief prophet is author, inventor, futurist, computer scientist Ray Kurzweil, who in 1988 was named the Inventor of the Year by MIT, was awarded the Dickson Prize, Carnegie Melon’s top science prize in 1994, in 1999 won the United States’ highest honor in technology the National Medal of Technology and Innovation in 2001 the Lemelson-MIT Prize, and in 2002 inducted into the U.S. Patent Office’s National Inventor’s Hall of Fame. In addition, Kurzweil was the recipient of nine honorary doctorates.
Ray Kurzweil is the science world’s leading prophet on the merging of man with machines as the creation of a new race.  Kurzweil is an advocate for the futurist and transhumanist movements, which include the future of nanotechnology, robotics and biotechnology. He is a leading teacher on the technological singularity.
Kurzweil’s books include: The Age of Spiritual Machines, The Singularity is Near, and How to Create a Mind the Secret of Human Thought Revealed.
He stated of the singularity,  “Technological change will be so rapid and its impact so profound that every aspect of human life will be irreversibly transformed…There won’t be a clear distinction between humans and machines…Computers are not going to be these rectangular devices…They are going to be inside our body and brain and we are going to be a hybrid of biological and non-biological intelligence.  Go back 500 years, not a lot happened. Now a lot happens in six months. Technology feeds on itself and it gets faster and faster.  The future changes will be so rapid you won’t be able to follow it unless you merge with it.”
Based on Ray Kurzweil’s book, The Age of Spiritual Machines: When Computers Exceed Human Intelligence, and his talks, he believes that these machines possess human consciousness and a soul.  He stated, “By 2020, we will begin to have relationships with automated personalities and use them as teachers, companions, and lovers. By 2030, the distinction between us and computers will have been so sufficiently blurred that when machines claim to be conscious, we will have no choice but to believe them. Human identity will be called into question as never before, as a billion years of evolution are superseded in a mere hundred by machine technology that we have created. We will become cyborgs, but what will computers become?”
There is also this idea that the machines will adopt the best traits of humans as they develop. Another prophet of the technology god, Ben Goertzel, PhD., is an American author and researcher in the field of artificial intelligence. His positions include chief scientist, scientific adviser and chairman for robotics and biopharma companies and artificial intelligence and futurist societies, along with being an adviser to Singularity University and is also research professor in the Fujian Key Lab for Brain-Like Intelligent Systems at Xiamen University, China.
Goertzel stated in line with this idea, “People have this idea that computers robots somehow have to be cold and impersonal and uncaring, I don’t see why that’s true, I believe we can go to artificial machines that are more caring, more compassionate, have better and stable goal systems than a human being. Once machines can think better than us all these other technologies will develop faster and faster.”
Futurist Max Moore, PhD., who founded the Extrophy Institute, wrote on becoming post human, “were saying that we can become something more than human… challenging every orthodox belief, challenging what we currently accept and saying why can’t we do better? Why can’t we improve human biology? Why can’t we change our genome? Just because it is the way it is doesn’t mean it’s as good as it can be. Why do we age and die why can’t we do something about that?
Futurist, theoretical physicist and also technology god prophet Michio Kaku stated that at MIT they are trying to create emotional robots. The idea is that technology can enhance humans, create an entire new race and achieve immortality.

Although the god of technology has its own teachings on artificial intelligence and a post human race, these will feed into the Antichrist’s claims. He will not adopt these teachings but will adapt them to his claims of deity and to blaspheme God.

Daniel 7:25 tells us he will change times and laws and will sanction what has been deemed unethical.    The False Prophet will be his greatest advocate and as I stated before, may very well be a scientist.
