60- Abomination of Desolation-Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

The unique phrase “abomination of desolation,” is used numerous times by Jesus as a warning. It is foretold by Daniel the prophet of the moment that the Antichrist declares himself as God  and sets up his technological counterpart to the Trinity in the Holy of Holies.  It is also called by Daniel in Daniel 8:3, “the transgression of desolation.” The verse in its entirety reads: “Then I heard a saint speaking and another saint said unto that certain saint which spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice and the transgression of desolation to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?”

It is possible that the “transgression of desolation” is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which is so grievous a sin that it even puts a stop to the healing and cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ.

Satan knows this fact, which is why it is part of his reign on the earth. His mark guarantees him the person’s soul and that they would have no hope of redemption.

The reason for this is that the Spirit is a part of the redemption process, and is so Holy that when the Spirit is blasphemed, it cannot do its work but must retreat for the sake of its own glory because it is part of the glory of God.
Revelation 13:6 tells us that the Antichrist blasphemes God,, it states, “Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.”  In line with his actions the Antichrist also institutes the mark of the Beast, which blasphemes the Holy Spirit and those who take the mark will commit the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
Scholars concluded that that the expression “abomination of desolation” referred to the desecration of the Second Temple by Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who erected a Zeus statue within the sacred areas.  We see the grievous idolatry committed in the Temple by the Israelites in Ezekiel 6-9 bringing God’s judgements onto the nation, but there is no association with the phrase in the book of Daniel because “the transgression of desolation” is even greater than just idolatry within the temple.
Daniel 9:27, adds:

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”
The word for desolate is a word, which means put to silence, places laid waste, in ruins. It also means to astonish, to stun. The desolation is both literal and spiritual. The abomination of desolation is a term that not only speaks of a literal desolation due to the siege of Jerusalem, but a spiritual one as well due to the retreat of the Holy Spirit from the Third Temple and the lives of those who take the mark of the Beast.

 Earlier in this report I referred to Ezekiel 9 because God marked those who were to be sparred His judgement and as a counter to God we see the Antichrist sealing those who are his and persecuting believers.  The Antichrist knows his believers are sealed unto him because by taking his mark they blaspheme the Holy Spirit and partake in the transgression of desolation.
