The Antichrist

The Antichrist evokes fear in all who first learn of him.

The Son of Satan, a leading figure in the unholy trinity,  he is the only man the Bible gives a number for a name.  His number is the frightful 666 combination.  Hence the triple six represents the unholy trinity and a curse.

Furthermore, the Bible gives over 30 titles to him and references him as early as in Genesis.  He is Jesus Christ’s nemesis and evidences the battle of the ages.

The early church fathers wrote about him

The Old Testament prophets forecast the Antichrist and Jesus made mention of him and later the apostles referenced him. Early church fathers wrote about him.  Polycarp a disciple of John, Irenaeus, a student of Polycarp and Hippolytus who learned under Irenaeus and Justin the Martyr all  taught on the Antichrist’s person and of his coming. Especially relevant the title Antichrist in reference to this leader is used only once in the Scriptures, yet there are over 30 titles given to him in the Old and New Testament forecasts.

The Antichrist is One of end time Bible Prophecy’s most central figures.

This man refered to as the man of sin is the fearsome leader/dictator, which Bible Prophecy forecasts and prophecy in the Bible describes as initiating the start of the Tribulation.

He starts the tribulation by negotiating a peace treaty with Israel that will mimic the Abrahamic covenant.   Rising from the Revived Roman Empire (the European Union) he leads it into its pinnacle of power. Hence, under the Antichrist’s leadership the EU will become the greatest and strongest world power to have ever existed. Midway during the Tribulation period, after he has risen the EU to its pinnacle of power, he enters the Holy of Holies in the Third Temple. There he declares himself as God, and also places the abomination of desolation. All of the greater details to these events  you can find out about on this website.

His actions mark the start of the Great Tribulation

The Antichrist’s actions divide the Tribulation into two periods with the second half being called the Great Tribulation. At this time he lays seige to Jerusalem and institutes the mark of the beast and the image of the Beast.  A man who the Bible refers to as a false prophet performs a miracle and causes the image of the Beast to speak.  Consequently, he causes all to take the mark of the beast.   The Antichrist will launch a murderous campaign against the people of God, and anyone who will not take the mark. In addition he will abolish  all religions. Hence, his actions during the Great Tribulation cause great human suffering.

He ignites the Battle of Armageddon

One fourth of the world’s population will die due to his policies and conquests.  In addition to the Antichrist’s horror unleashed onto the world,  the trumpet and bowl judgments of the Revelation are poured onto the world.  This is why it will be a time of Great Tribulation.  Finally the Antichrist’s actions ushers in the battle of Armageddon.

He begins the Tribultion period of the Revelation judgments

In Bible Prophecy  the Antichrist’s action of making an agreement of peace guaranteeing Israel’s peace begins the 7 year tribulation period of judgements that God unleashes unto the earth. The Antichrist is part of God’s judgements.

The Antichrist’s next major action in Bible Prophecy marks the middle of the Tribulation -abomination of desolation-  when he goes into the Jewish temple and declares that he is God and places the abomination of desolation. From this time forward he seeks to annihilate the Jews and all world religions as he establishes his dictatorship and himself as a deity.  The plagues of the book of Revelation are also unleashed until the battle of Armageddon. Hence, the second Coming of Jesus Christ follows and the end of the world.

Many have questions about the Antichrist. Where will he come from?  How will he come into power?   What will be his nationality?  Many ask so much more.   I have written a good deal on the Antichrist and below are my articles and videos  divided up into categories. For a complete dissertation on him see my book the Antichrist of Revelation:666.

Who is the Antichrist and what does the Bible say about him?

The Bible tells us quite a bit about the Antichrist. Contrary to myth, Scripture does not describe him as handsome and charming.   There is no reference to his age.  So he might not be young when he comes into power.

Where is the Antichrist mentioned in the Bible and how many times?
The Antichrist is mentioned as having over 30 titles in the Bible.
Where Will The Antichrist Come From?

According to the Bible he rises from the tribe of Dan, and he will be European.  I have written considerably on the topic and you can search this site for the various details.  In addition, you can tune into my Youtube playlist to listen vs. read and learn more.
