Beast of Revelation

The Beast of Revelation is the final world empire or government that the Antichrist leads.

Bible Prophecy describes the beast in both the book of Daniel and the Revelation. The Major Prophets  provide additional details. The Beast of Revelation will become the most powerful empire to have ever existed in all of history. In the Revelation it is described as rising from the sea. Appearing dragon like the red beast emerges with seven to eight heads and ten horns.  The beast roars with the mouth of a lion. The Bible depicts the Beast appearing with the most strongest attributes of ferocious animals of prey. Teeth and feet of iron, nails of bronze highlight the Beast’s frightful power.

Daniel 7:7 (NKJV) provides a horrific description of the Beast possessing monstrous attributes.  Daniel describes the beast as “dreadful, terrible, exceedingly strong”.  Its lion like mouth has great iron teeth.  The beast is so powerful it both devours and destroys everything in its path. The verse describes, “breaking it in pieces” and “tramples the residue with its feet.”

“After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

Daniel’s vision greatly troubled him and when inquiring about the fourth beast,-the final world empire-he adds another detail.  Not only were its teeth of iron, but its nails are of bronze, i.e. metal.   He reiterates the beast devouring, breaking in pieces and trampling the residue under is feet. Daniel 7:15-19 states, ”

“I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of these things: 17 ‘Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings[c] which arise out of the earth. 18 But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.’

19 “Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet;

In Daniel 7:23 the angel answers him and reiterates its power by stating:

23 “Thus he said: “The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces. In Nebuchadnezzar’s dream image we see the first picture of the final world empire. We see its iron composition and possessing the strength of previous empires also depicted by various metals. Daniel 2;39-40 states:

But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rules over all the earth.  And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others.
Nebedchadnezzar’s Dream Image-Iron mixed with clay
In the next verses we learn specifically that the feet are of iron and the toes are part iron and part clay. This weakness amidst its strength occurs in the toes. The detail helps us accuratly identify the final world empire.  Jesus represented as the stone destroys this kingdom at His second coming at the battle of Armageddon.  Daniel 2:41-45 continues:
“Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided. Yet the strength of the iron shall be in it. Just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay.
And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile.  As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men. But they shall not adhere to one another.
Just as iron does not mix with clay. And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold-the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure. “
This final world empire is going to be extremely powerful.

Identity of the Beast of Revelation

The Beast of Revelation is the area that causes Bible Prophecy watchers the greatest disagreement.

They differ on  the identity of the final world empire and how the Antichrist comes into power. Two views prevail. The one this site teaches is the European Union as the final world empire-beast of Revelation. The other is the revived Islamic Caliphate, which became popular with the spread of Islam in our world.   There are also those who combine both and teach that it will be the revived Roman empire, with legs in the Middle East, which is not even a remote geopolitical possibility or foretold in Scripture.

There are also the conspiracy theorists who believe a conspiracy will bring about world rule and a revived empire. Prophecy in the Bible is clear that there is no conspiracy that brings the Antichrist or his government to power. The Antichrist is a deceiver. He is cunning and obtains his position through deceit. He enters his political seat refereed to as the Seat of the Antichrist.

Concerning the Bible’s accuracy, before you read on, I want to note that Daniel provides a view to empires that were yet future, and a final world empire.  A sign that we are in the end time of the emergence of this empire is that we are geopolitically in what is called the age of empires, or a multipolar world. This world is governed by the EU, US, and the BRICs Russia, India, China, Brazil.

This author holds that the European Union is the final world empire the revived Roman empire and that at the time of the Tribulation, it will reign as the leading empire.

On the topic of the revived Roman Empire. Before the final signing of the treaty in 1957. Paul -Henri Spaak while gazing over the Forum Romanum in Rome  Spaak said “I think that we have re-established the Roman Empire without a single shot being fired.”

The ten king structure of the revived roman Empire.

The books of Daniel and the Revelation make it clear that within the final world empire are ten kings. These give their power or authority to the Beast.  It should be noted that the book of Daniel and the Revelation, during Empire ages predicted modern politics. This is of nation states which formed in the 1800’s and 1900’s.

The Revived Roman Empire i.e. The Beast of Revelation

The Revived Roman Empire term is not found in Bible Prophecy or given in any prophecy in the Bible. It is based on the description of the final world empire given by Daniel the prophet. Along with the difference of opinion of Evangelical Christians in identifying the Beast of Revelation, the Revived Roman Empire is disputed, but it lends to the identity of the Beast of Revelation.

One World Government and Globalization
Bible Prophecy experts speculated many years ago the Antichrist would rise from a one world government.  They also stated there would be a one world religion. The conspiracy theorists took the short cut via their conspiracy and said that the secret societies were conspiring for world government. The term one world government has become another catch phrase of Bible Prophecy watchers.  This did not exactly come out of prophecy in the Bible, but derived from Bible Prophecy’s predictions. Revelation 13,  states that the Antichrist causes ALL to take the Mark of the Beast and  references  the Earth or whole world. Thus Bible Prophecy experts follow the globalization and all that lends to globalization and the fulfillment of this end time prophecy.

This page is part of a series of pages of Main Bible Prophecy Topics. Other subjects fall under these topics. For example under the Beast of Revelation falls World Government. On the Tribulation page you will find the Peace Treaty, which begins the Tribulation.   The Abomination of Desolation begins the Great Tribulation.  It falls under that category.  This is set up so that you can easily navigate the key topics of end time Bible Prophecy.
