Satan’s Throne and the Beast of Revelation

Satan’s throne is mentioned only one time in the Bible

In Revelation 2:12-17 Jesus references Satan’s throne. It is the only time the Bible mentions Lucifer’s throne and here we discover that he has a throne on the earth. In the book of Revelation we see the contrast of God’s heavily throne vs. Satan’s earthly one. The verse reads:

“And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write,

‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: 13 “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells

Satan’s Throne is Pergamum Alter of Zeus

In referring to Satan’s throne, scholars all agree Jesus referred to the Pergamon Alter which was the alter of Zeus. King Eumenes II built the enormous Pergamum Alter in the first half of the 2nd Century BC on one of the terraces of the acropolis of Pergamum, the ancient Greek city in Asia Minor. Eumenes II surnamed Soter meaning “Savior” and a member of the Attalid dynasty of Pergamum ruled Pergamum at that time.

 Who is Zeus?

Zeus is the sky and thunder god in ancient Greek religion. He ruled as king of the gods of Mount Olympus. His Roman equivalent is Jupiter. In addition, he bears similarities to other ancient gods such as Indra, Perkunas, Perun, Thor and Odin.

Worshippers considered Zeus as an all father and chief of the gods. He assigned the others to their roles. Even unafilliated gods and non children address him as father. Worshippers revered Zeus as king in heaven.  All gods rise in his presence.   Followers equate him with many foreign weather gods.

Demons are in the idols

The Bible tells us in two places that demons are in the idols.   Deuteronomy 32: 17 and in 1 Corinthians 10:20  Paul states that in worshipping the false gods they sacrifice to demons. Demons inhibit all false gods. Knowing this Biblical truth, we can speculate that Satan himself chose to inhabit Zeus.  Zeus the god of all gods mirrored God in heaven.  He is the earthly counterpart, which is why Satan chose this god.

Belief in Zeus Widespread in Ancient and Biblical Times

Based on historical accounts and the Biblical references of Zeus, belief in him was pretty widespread. Zeus is mentioned twice in the New Testament. Acts 14:8–13 records the people living in Lystra identifying Paul with Hermes and Barnabas with Zeus. This occured after they healed a lame man. They believed they were gods. They even tried to offer them sacrifices.  Two ancient inscriptions discovered in 1909 near Lystra testify to the worship of Hermes and Zeus in that city. These inscriptions read “priests of Zeus, “Hermes Most Great”” and “Zeus the sun-god”.

In Acts 28:11: the name of the ship in which the prisoner Paul set sail from the island of Malta bore the figurehead, Sons of Zeus”.  The book 2 Maccabees records that the evil King Antiochus IV Epiphanes who directed a murderous campaign against the Jews, and desecrated the Temple, wanted to rededicate it to Zeus.  Zeus is also Jupiter in Rome.

The Story of Zeus and Europa

In Greek mythology Europa was a Phoenician princess whose beauty captivated Zeus. He appeared to her in the form of a beautiful fragrant white bull. It was so gentle all of the maidens rushed to stroke it. The bull laid down in front of Europa and she slid onto its back.  Immediately the bull ran off into the sea and swam away from the shore.  As a procession followed, Nereids, Triton and Poseidon, she realized the bull must be a god. She pleaded for him to pity her. Zeus spoke to her and explained his love. He took her to Crete his childhood home and promised her that she would bear him many famous sons. Her sons included Minos and Thadamanthus.

Eurpoean Union represented by Europa riding the Bull

The myth of Europa and the bull is alluded to in relation to the continent and used by the European Union. It is considered as a semi official symbol of the European region.

We see statues of Europa riding the bull in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg and at the Headquarters of the Council of the European Union in Brussels.

Zeus became Jupiter in Rome.

Capitoline the hill in its early history was named Mons Saturnius, and dedicated to the god Saturn. The word Capitolium first meant the temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus later built there. Afterwards it also named the whole hill (and even other temples of Jupiter on other hills).

Temple of Jupiter on Capitoline Hill

The Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus, also known as the Temple of Jupiter Capitolinus of the “Temple of Jupiter Best and Greatest on the Capitoline”was the most important temple in Ancient Rome.  It had a cathedral-like position in the official religion of Rome, and was surrounded by the Area Capitolina, a precinct where certain assemblies met, and numerous shrines, altars, statues, and victory trophies were displayed. Jupiter, the son of Saturn, was the supreme god to the Romans and his Greek counterpart was Zeus.

Treaty of Rome Signed on Capitoline Hill

Capitoline is also the location of the signing of the Treaty of Rome that established the European Union, (revived Roman Empirepolitical Babylon) and also the place of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty and the Summit of Rome where EU leaders decided to go forward with an even stronger commitment to EU unity.

Treaty of Rome Signed in Temple of Jupiter

It is no coincidence that on Capitoline  took place the rebirth of the Roman Empire with the signing of the Treaty of Rome in 1957. According to David Willey who was a journalist in training who covered the event, he stated in an article that appeared in the BBC.

The symbolism was almost overpowering. They were gathered at the very hub of the ancient world where, 2,500 years ago, six centuries before Christ, the foundations were laid of Rome’s first major temple, dedicated to Jupiter, king of the gods.

60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome

EU leaders met at the same place for the Rome Summit at the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome and renewed their commitment for going forward with even greater European Unity. They like the leaders in 1957 who signed the treaties also met with the Pope at the Vatican.

According to an opinion piece by Daniel Fiott published in European Defense Matters Fiott noted of the signing on Capitoline Hill, “As the former location of the temples to the gods Saturn and his son Jupiter, the Capitoline Hill embodied wealth, renewal and liberation. Far from just mythology, however, European leaders back in 1957 laid the foundations for an economic and political union designed to avert war and generate prosperity in Europe.  These aims, just like the city of Rome itself, are eternal.”

Roman Empire Revived

So we see that Zeus became Jupiter and the headquarters of Jupiter became Rome and Rome became the place of the signing of the Treaty of Rome. Before the final signing of the treaty in 1957. Paul -Henri Spaak while gazing over the Forum Romanum in Rome  Spaak one of the EU’s founding fathers said “I think that we have re-established the Roman Empire without a single shot being fired.”

So we see the tie of the throne of Satan or the alter of Zeus transfer over to Jupiter’s Temple in Rome and it be the place of the signing of the treaty of Rome-Capitoline Hill.   To further the symbolism the woman and the bull statues adorn major EU buildings.  The EU named its web portal  Europa.

What does this Mean?

Why would this particular empire be formed at the throne of Satan, or alter of Zeus, temple of Jupiter so to speak?  Because this revived Roman empire will launch Satan’s son and the false prophet – the unholy trinity. But, we see in Revelation 17:2 that it is God himself who puts in the hearts of the kings to give their kingdoms to the Beast.  It is also God who allows and appoints his kingdom. Daniel 2:21 confirms, “And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; So basically Satan cannot act without God’s permission or outside of His will.

Satan’s Throne and the Beast of Revelation Depiction

There is a Biblical pattern and it occurs in three instances in Scripture where God makes an actual description of a historical god, and contrasts it with a Biblical depiction. While men view the idol in the flesh, God provides the spiritual view.

  1. Zechariah 5’s woman in the basket named Wickedness represents the Egyptian ISIS mentioned in Jeremiah 44. Statues of Isis in Egypt depict her sitting on a basket.
  2. The Whore of Babylon with writing on her forehead. Accounts describe Ishtar statues with writing on her forehead but in the Biblical depiction the corrected  writing reads : Babylon the Great the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth,
  3. The Beast of Revelation parallels Zeus and Europa . The Biblical creatures describes a dragon like Beast vs. a Bull with the dragon representing Satan. The woman is the whore of Babylon.

God’s View

Just as the Bible lets us know that the worship of Isis was wickedness, using her actual representation, and Ishtar is a Whore in that she leads men and women from the true God, which we see in Revelation 17, the woman and the bull is actually Satan himself riden by the woman who would lead men astray from the true God.  As she is the bride of Satan, we see the church as the bride of Christ. Where Christ marries his church., we see the Antichrist destroy his harlot.

Satan Has Authority over the Kingdoms of this earth

Zues is the dragon with the eight heads. This indicates Satan’s authority over each of these kingdoms. This correlates with Satan’s temptation of Christ. He offered Him all of the kingdoms of this world because they belong to Satan.

The Coming of Christ’s Kingdom

We see in Scripture the coming Kindom of Christ and the destruction of the earthly kingdoms.

Daniel 2:44

44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Revelation 11:15

15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

Pagan and Satanic Symbols are Everywhere

While I have shown you the relation of Satan’s throne to the Beast of Revelation, I want to make clear that Satanic symbols and demons are throughout the entire world. In addition to seeing them in the kingdoms of this world we see them in medicine, music, video games, movies, and various products.

Walmart has video games inhabited by Demons.  The game Diablo, is one of them.  Halloween decorations with its images of shrouded skeletons,  are representations of demons under the Principality Death. Even certain tattoo’s that people ink on themselves are faces of demons and by inking the face of the demon they bring the demon’s influence in their life.  So demons are everywhere. This is why God tells us to separate ourselves from the world, but yet we are a part of the world. To truly separate we are to flee idolatry.  Remember the demons are in the idols. This also includes money and pornography.  Not to mention this is why it is so important to follow the first command which is to have no gods before the God of Gods.

In Conclusion

In summary the book of Revelation provides the accurate depiction of the bull and the woman. Satan the head of all demons chose to inhabit the Statue of Zeus.

Zeus was worshipped as Jupiter in Rome.  The fact that we can see the relation of the Beast of Revelation to the Throne of Satan is one more bit of proof that the EU is the final world empire.  It will be ruled one day by Satan’s son, the Antichrist.   For more on the pagan symbolism throughout the EU.
